A Journey Through The Rockies-Mountain Music For Kids!

Families are invited on a musical journey through the magical landscapes of the Rocky Mountains on Sunday, July 18, at 7:30 p.m. at the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center. This 50 minute live concert weaves stories and songs together to bring to life local, environmental science concepts such as Colorado Ecology, Rocky Mountain Wildlife, Leave No Trace Outdoor Ethics, Water Purification and more. Boulder-based children’s musicians Jeff Kagan and Paige Doughty will keep kids engaged through interactive music, educational skits, audience participation, and mysterious surprises! Music appropriate for kids ages 3-9 but all ages are welcome.

Jeff and Paige are naturalists, educators and children’s musicians from Boulder, Colorado. Their concerts explores the realm of ecological cycles, life in the alpine ecosystem, pollination, bear and mountain lion safety, symbiosis, water purification, water and electricity conservation, alternative transportation and so much more. Now if this sounds a little lofty for the kiddies set, then think again. The messages are delivered in a playful manner with memorable musical hooks designed to captivate children and adults alike.

Paige adds energy, movement, hand motions and female vocals to the music. You might see her dressed as a honeybee, a flower, a rattlesnake, a bobcat or even Giardia! Paige loves dancing, singing, writing stories and exploring the natural world. Jeff and Paige first started collaborating in graduate school for environmental education. A few years later they began collaborating to create fun, nature-based kids’ concerts together. Jeff and Paige look forward to seeing you on Sunday night and hope that you wear your dancing shoes!
