S. Lynn Eisenhart

Sarah Lynn Nelson was born in Oshkosh, NE in June of 1942 to Carl and Frances Nelson. The youngest of three girls, Lynn was raised in the Nebraska panhandle both on a small farm and in the town of Sidney, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sisters Barbara Nelson and Beverly Dehning survive her.
After graduating from Sidney High School, Lynn attended Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1960, becoming a member of the Willard Sorority. During her college years, she spent one semester at American University in Washington, DC, where she met her husband to be, Eric Eisenhart. They were married on Dec. 27, 1964.
After graduating NWU, Lynn taught school in Dorchester and in Lincoln, NE, while Eric finished law school. Upon his graduation they moved to Cambridge, NE. Lynn was very active in the Cambridge community with PEO, bridge, town plays, and the Congregational Church, and served on state and national boards for the United Church of Christ.
Lynn has two sons-Mark and Christopher. Mark is a veterinarian, and he and his wife Marilyn live in St. Louis, MO with Lynn’s grandchildren, Ethan and Everett. Christopher is an English professor at the University of Massachusetts and is engaged to be married to Bridget Sullivan of Providence, RI.
Lynn always loved the Estes Park area, and in 2003, decided to make it her home. She found fellowship and community in Estes while worshipping at the Presbyterian Church, playing bridge, volunteering at the Estes Park Visitor’s Center, and exercising alongside friends at MedX.
Lynn died Tuesday, June 22 at the Estes Park Medical Center at the age of 67 after a brief bout with aggressive cancer.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 28, at the Presbyterian Community Church of the Rockies, with a reception to follow.
