Estes Park resident Carol Primrose died at her home on Wednesday, March 31, 2010. She was 72 years old. Carol Ann Rieck was born April 14, 1937 in Boone County, NE. Her parents were Alfred and Irma (Neidhardt) Rieck.
Carol grew up on a farm near Primrose, NE and graduated from Spalding High School. She attended the University of Nebraska where she received her teacher’s certificate. She married Gailen Primrose on August 12, 1961 at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, NE. In Nebraska, Carol was a rural school teacher and also worked for Mutual United of Omaha. Carol and Gailen honeymooned in Estes Park, CO and in May 1962 decided to make it their home. In Estes Park, Carol worked for the Sundeck restaurant, Rowe Heating, National Park Village South, Rockmont Cottages, the Trail Gazette, Judy’s Flowers, Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, and was also an Amway distributor for many years. Carol was an active member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time with friends, collecting angels, traveling, and doing crafts.
Carol is survived by her son, Kevin Primrose of McCall, ID; daughter and son-in-law, Joetta and Leonard Foster of San Diego , CA; a sister, Elaine Biel of Elkhorn, NE; a step granddaughter and two step great-grandsons of Santa Clarita, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church at 950 N. St. Vrain Ave., Estes Park , CO.
