Fine Arts Guild To Offer Barefoot In The Park And Dinner Theater

Looking for something fun and romantic to do with that special someone in your life? Why not make a reservation for the Fine Arts Guild Dinner Theater, Feb 13, presenting Barefoot in the Park? A romantic evening with troubadours, and light hearted romantic comedy.

“Barefoot in the Park” is Neil Simon’s Broadway hit comedy about a young newlywed couple Paul and Corie Bratter.  Paul, an attorney by professions, is a tightly wound, button down collar kind of guy. His wife Corie is an effervescent free spirit who refuses to allow anything to stand in the way of her marital bliss.

The Bratters live in a miniscule fifth floor Greenwich Village apartment and if having to walk up five flights of stairs isn’t bad enough, Victor Velasco, their quirky upstairs neighbor sometimes goes through their apartment to get to his.  Corie decides to try to fix her mother up with Mr. Velasco, but the evening goes terribly awry and Paul ends up on the couch. Can Paul loosen up and go barefoot in the park?

Held at the Village Playhouse, doors for the dinner theater will open at 5:30 p.m. with a cash bar and dinner served at 6:00 p.m. Entree choices include Roast New York Strip with Sauce Bernaise or Baked Salmon with Sauce Hollandaise, served with fresh green beans and oven roasted baby baked potatoes or Vegetarian Lasagna with fresh green beans. Salad, rolls, non-alcoholic beverage, and chocolate moussé with fresh berries will round out the meal. Cost for the dinner theater is $35/person non-member, $23/person for Fine Arts Guild members. Tickets must be purchased by February 12 at Macdonald Book Shop.

So make a date with that someone special, or get a group of friends together and celebrate Cupid’s holiday and join us for an evening of light hearted fun and great food….what other dinner theater can boast that?!

Dinner theater not our cup of tea? Barefoot in the Park will also be presented without dinner on February 12, 13, 19, 20, at 7:30 p.m. and on Feb 14, & 21 at 2:00 p.m. Performance only tickets are $12 for adults, $6 for students 18 and under in advance, $14 and $8 at the door. No charge for Fine Arts Guild Members. Tickets are available at Macdonald Book Shop.
