Noreen H. Boyatt
Noreen H. Boyatt , beloved wife of 63 years of Craig L. Boyatt, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2010, after a long, courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She was born on June 9, 1927 in Gunnison, CO where she developed her deep, abiding love of the mountains.
She grew up in Grand Junction where she met and married Craig L. Boyatt after World War II at Mesa College. Noreen and Craig moved to Fruita, CO where she gave birth to her children, Robbin and Scott, then on to Lakewood, CO where Craig taught at Lakewood High School and Noreen began and ended her career with the USGS.
After retirement, Noreen and Craig moved to Steamboat Springs, CO then Estes Park, CO to be close to family.
Other than her husband, Noreen leaves behind her son Scott and daughter-in-law Cindy Boyatt and their children, Liz and Pete of Estes Park, CO, her daughter, Robbin A. Boyatt and her husband Ned from Chester, CT and their son Sean Kollenkark and his wife, Rhonna of Seattle, WA. Noreen also leaves her sister, Jean and brother-in-law Jack McIntosh of Tucson, AZ. and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of Noreen’s life was held Thursday, January 7, 2010 at the Ponder Chapel at the YMCA Center in Estes Park.
