Grandstands Groundbreaking Held At Fairgrounds
Last Thursday, December 17, the Town of Estes Park hosted a Grandstands Groundbreaking Ceremony.
Community members were invited to join in the ceremony at the Fairgrounds at Stanley Park as the Town Trustees, Town staff and the Estes Park Urban Renewal Authority (EPURA) broke ground at the site of the new grandstands. Attending the ceremony were:

Also attending were members of the Rooftop Rodeo Committee, the Lions Club, Town Department Heads and Special Events staff, representatives from Taylor Kohrs (general contractor) and Thorp and Associates (architect), as well as members of the community.
The new grandstands will seat nearly 2,700 people, an increase of 600 seats from the old grandstands facility. Construction of the facility will be complete in May of 2010 in order to accommodate summer events. Current project updates and photos are available at www.estes.org/events
The Town of Estes Park and EPURA have partnered to fund the construction of the new grandstands. EPURA is managing the project and the Town will assume full ownership of the facility upon completion. Local subcontractors include Rightway Electric Company, Estes Park Lumber Company and Lafarge North America.
