Nelda Kottmeyer, 93, of Estes Park passed away at the Estes Park Medical Center on Monday, June 29, 2009.
Nelda Amanda Kottmeyer was born on July 23, 1915 in Kenesaw, Nebraska to Ernst J.G. and Emma (Plagens) Einspahr. The family moved to Flagler, Colorado where they farmed and Nelda attended and graduated from Flagler High School. Following high school, Nelda worked at the hospital as a nurses’ aide.
Nelda met and married Harry H. Kottmeyer in Flagler, Colorado on December 13, 1940. They moved to Estes Park, Colorado in 1955. Harry passed away on September 6, 1975.
Nelda was employed with Rocky Mountain Connections (Western Brands) as a seamstress for forty-two years.
Nelda had been an active member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. She served in various activities, which included the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. Her daughter’s and families were an important part of her life.
She is survived by her daughters Linda Romersberger of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Jeanne McCracken of Estes Park, Colorado; grandchildren Ronald Romersberger of Portland, Oregon; Jamie McCracken- Reed and husband Bill of Estes Park; Shaun McCracken and wife Naomi of Estes Park and great grandson Cody McCracken of Estes Park.
Also surviving are her sisters Elbe Geer of Boulder, Colorado and Elvera Mueller of Greeley, Colorado.
Graveside services were held in Loveland at the Loveland Burial Park Cemetery on Monday, July 6, 2009. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, P. 0. Box 1724, Estes Park, CO 80517. Kibbey Fishburn Funeral Home in Loveland is in charge of arrangements.
