Marjorie Jean Morris
Marj was born Dec. 23, 1923, in Minden, Nebraska, to Charles and Eletta Chappell. She had one sister, Ruth Ann Doher, and two brothers, John Chappell and Arthur Chappell. She attended Sterling College in Sterling, Kansas, where she met her husband, Kenneth P. Morris. She graduated from Sterling in 1945 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics, and Ken and Marj were married in 1946. They had four children: Judy, Tom, Janet, and Kathy. Marj was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth P. Morris; brother, Arthur Chappell; and sister, Ruth Ann Doher Hubbard.
She is survived by her children: Judy (Bob) Williams of Firestone, CO, Tom (Paula) Morris of Macksville, KS, Janet (Dave) Hamm of Lafayette, CO, Kathy (Mike) Wiegers of Elkhart, KS; brother, John C. (Joyce) Chappell of Holmdel, NJ; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, January 11, 2014, in the Chapel at First Presbyterian Church in Boulder, CO. Memorials can be given to Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center Foundation, 200 Exempla Circle, Lafayette, CO 80026. Memorials can be given in the name of Marjorie J. Morris and will be used for Nursing Education.
