Take Part In The Future Of Estes Park
Estes Valley Recreation and Park District (EVRPD), in partnership with the Town of Estes Park, the Estes Park School District R-3, the Estes Park Medical Center, and the Estes Valley Public Library District, will be hosting a series of public forums on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, to receive input and feedback from our community on a proposed Community Wellness Recreation Center (CWRC). The goal of these public forums is to present information about the project and gather feedback from citizens at-large regarding potential programs, services, and amenities citizens are most interested in having in a future community center facility. PROS Consulting was hired from a field of highly-qualified firms to perform the CWRC feasibility study and PROS will also facilitate the public forum meetings.
Public input from our community is a very important piece of the feasibility study. We need to hear from community members’ needs and desires and how we can collaborate with local agencies, service and program providers, and local businesses to create a facility that best serves our community by maximizing available resources for the greater good of the entire community. We were fortunate to hear from over 90 interested citizens during our focus groups meetings on November 20 and 21, which provided valuable information.
The public forum meetings will take place on Wednesday, December 4, in the Town of Estes Park Museum meeting room, located at 200 Fourth Street in Estes Park. The first meeting is scheduled for 9:30 AM and a second meeting will be held at 6 PM. A third public forum will be hosted on the same day at 2 PM at the Estes Park School District R-3 school campus. We will meet with a variety of students from the elementary, middle, and high schools to gauge their interests and receive their feedback.
A needs assessment survey is planned to be mailed out near the first part of January in 2014 to the entire Estes Valley Community including Glen Haven, Meeker Park, Allenspark, Drake, Pinewood Springs, and Estes Park to provide everyone in the valley an opportunity to provide input and feedback on a future CWRC. For more details please visit www.evrpd.com or call 970-586-8191 to speak with Executive Director, Skyler Rorabaugh. Please join us in taking part in the planning of a better Estes Valley Community. We hope to see you on Wednesday, December 4 at one of the public forums!
