Robert M. Forrister

Robert M. Forrister, son of Louella and Ray Forrister of Port Huron, Michigan, passed away October 14 at his home in Estes Park, Colorado surrounded by his loving family.
A gentle, considerate, thoughtful, loving, caring and honorable man, Bob will be greatly missed. His quick wit, piano playing, chorale singing, photographic memory and encyclopedic knowledge will be remembered by all who knew him.
Bob earned a B.S. degree from Antioch College in electrical engineering. He was a Marine in WW II and attended Harvard University on the G.I. bill following the war, earning a law degree. Having fallen in love with the Rocky Mountains during a college trip in a Model A Ford, Bob moved to Casper, Wyoming and joined the law firm of Winter and Burgess. He was elected to two terms as district judge and served for 18 years. After retiring, he moved to Ft. Collins, CO.
After five years in Ft. Collins, he and his wife Rose moved to Estes Park, CO to be closer to the mountains that Bob loved to hike. Bob was an active member of the Rotary and the Casper Chorale. He is survived by his beloved wife Rose and his three children, Ann Forrister of Montara, CA, John Forrister of Ojai, CA and Ray Forrister of Austin, TX, and his two granddaughters Julie and Elena Forrister of Austin, TX.

A private family service will be held at their cabin on Casper Mountain next spring.
