8th Annual Estes Park Heritage Festival This Weekend, Aug 10 & 11

Heritage_FestThe 8th Annual Heritage Festival will be held this weekend, August 10 and 11 at the Fairgrounds at Stanley Park.

The festival is put on by the Estes Valley Historical Preservation Foundation whose mission is to promote, preserve, restore and educate the public on the important history of Estes Park.

Event organizers will once again host “Trash and Treasures” and community members are invited to donate items for the sale. Items from Trash and Treasures will be available throughout the entire Heritage Festival.

This year there will be a new and exciting Rocky Mountain Chuck Wagon Cook Off with delicious foods to sample and the Draft Horse Show will be held on Sunday. Other favorite attractions such as the petting zoo, Mountain Men encampment, the Lewis and Clark exhibit and on stage entertainment will all be back this year.

Delicious homemade pies will be sold at the festival by the slice or whole pie. If you wish to donate a pie to benefit the projects that the Foundation is helping to restore, please feel free to bring a pie or pies to the fairgrounds on Friday or Saturday morning before 10 a.m. All kinds of pies are welcome except those that need to be refrigerated.

The jams, jellies, preserves and relishes contest will be judged on Saturday, August 10th at 10 a.m. If you would like to enter your creation, please bring them to the fairgrounds area on Friday, August 9th. We will be setting up for the Festival starting at 4 p.m. We hope many of our community members will submit their jams, jellies, preserves and relishes. Winners will be announced on Sunday at noon.

The Heritage Festival is a celebration of Estes Valley’s history and a fundraiser for the Foundation. The Foundation has taken on two projects to help restore Baldpate’s Homestead and The Inn at Glen Haven. For more information, please call 970-215-2458 or email evhpfoundation@gmail.com.
