23rd Annual Jazz Festival May 18-19


JazzFest_Logo2013The 23rd annual Estes Park Jazz Festival will present seven Jazz groups over two days. The festival takes place on Saturday, May 18th, and on Sunday, May 19th, 2013, from Noon to 5 p.m. at Performance Park. The Estes Park Jazz Festival has grown from its humble beginnings over two decades ago, into a two-day event, featuring our finest national and regional Jazz artists. The festival features stellar line-ups of performers presenting the music from its New Orleans roots to its thriving and diverse present, and venturing into its exciting future.

This year’s Festival headlining act presented on Sunday, May 19th will be The Cookers, a World Class New York septet comprised of legendary Jazz artists: Billy Harper -Tenor Saxophone, Eddie Henderson- Trumpet, David Weiss -Trumpet, Craig Handy -Alto Saxophone, George Cables -Piano, Cecil McBee- Bass, and Billy Hart -Drums. This amazing super-group will take the stage as part of our Sunday line-up; don’t miss it! The Estes Park Jazz Festival will feature seven Jazz groups presented over two days.

6:30-9:30 p.m. on Saturday Night, May 18th: The Max Wagner Quartet

Downtown at Mama Rose’s Italian Restaurant

The Max Wagner Quartet: Max Wagner on Saxophone & Jazz Vocals, with Jeff Jenkins -Piano, Ken Walker -Bass, and Alwyn Robinson -Drums -Straight Ahead Jazz, with Special Festival guests.

Thanks to the support of the Town of Estes Park and private sponsorships, the festival has become a prime destination for music lovers around the region and across the country; and the perfect kick off to the festival season in Colorado. The Estes Park Jazz Festival is produced by the Special Events Department of the Town of Estes Park and was founded by and is directed by Jazz artist, Max Wagner.

The Festival is presented free to the public courtesy of the Town of Estes Park and our sponsors.Parking is available at no extra charge, however space is limited. We ask that you please do not bring your dogs (service dogs are the exception).
